"Andrew Hastie - Fighting for You!"....... is as good as ASIC saying they are the Consumer Protector!
Just got off the phone to Hastie’s office. Never in all my life have I listened to so much bullshit in such a short space of time.
Hastie’s office “so glad you called Mr Hastie has just written to the Minister for Social Services to try and get some answers on the Centrelink issues”
Me “ good , so can we set a time to meet with Mr Hastie and he can tell us what he has found out?”
Office “ we can’t do that until we get a reply from the Minister”
Me “so you are refusing a meeting?
Office “Not at all , Mr Hastie has received a lot of calls about this and is across the matter and is very concerned”
Me “how long will it take to get a reply from the Minister”
Office “depends on the Minister, could be 2 or 3 weeks or even a bit longer”
Me “do you realise people are dying while this debacle lingers on. As a constituent I am demanding a meeting with my local member. Every other local MP has met with us but Mr Hastie has said it a “state” matter”
Office “Mr Haste has not stated Centrelink issues are a State Matter”
Me “There are lots of different situations, wouldn’t it a good idea to hear about the issues straight from the horse’s mouth. Can you please arrange a meeting with Mr Hastie between myself and other constituents”
Office “ I can’t do that , only his diary manager can arrange that meeting”
Me “can you please put me through to that person?”
Office “I’m afraid not , she is in a meeting at the moment”
Me “this is my telephone number please ask her to ring me urgently”
I will keep you informed of progress or lack thereof
