Dear Mr Morrison
PLEASE step up to the plate and help us. We elected your Government to be strong and be there for ALL Australians yes ALL Australians. Pensioners have contributed to this country they have gone without for years to contribute to this wonderful country to call Australia their home. We have worked for 50 years paid our taxes. Bought up children with values and respect for their fellow man/woman. We voted for leadership, someone who will lead this country and protect all.
This said and done what did we get back in return. A business who purported to have ASICs full support in helping retirees. This was absolutely NOT their agenda. I have never understood why a watchdog could know about a businesses prior business failings which resulted in bankruptcy and still let them have another bite of the cherry.
Sterling New Life, life leases mine for 20 years was sold hard. We were to have security of tenure for the life of our lease and our money protected in a Trust fund under Theta Asset Management.
This was all lies and criminal behaviour and to top it off I got legal advice. I am not a fool but if ASIC were on the ball this would never have happened. They knew that’s what gets me really angry.
Why keep funding a useless Government ASIC Department Prime Minister. That’s 450MIL of tax payers money. What a waste of money.
We are now left without any money at all. Would you like your parents to be in our situation. Landlords screaming for rent and back rent. No empathy. They were getting double market rent now we are destitute and can’t pay that they are threatening us with eviction. We DID NOT cause this!!!
Why aren’t these corrupt business owners charged with theft. They stole everyone’s money. The Administrator Ferrier Hodgson (KPMG) have only ensured secured creditors were paid back. We the unsecured creditors were told we’re investors not creditors and we would in reality get a big fat 0.
So I repeat why DIDN’T ASIC do their job. They knew about this scam way before I ever bought in to it. As an Australian born and bred I am disgusted in this Government Department and wonder why it even exists businesses just do they want anyhow. I read ASIC are wined and dined and given corporate gifts. Is this even legal Prime Minister it wreaks of corruption to me. ‘ You scratch my back I’ll scratch yours’
I don’t want to end up residing in a lower socioeconomic area with no security. Rent takes half of my pension I like you have bills to pay if I don’t I get a bad credit rating. I may have enough over to buy minimal food to sustain me. I don’t see the pension increasing when everything around us goes up and up and now I don’t have a secure roof over my head. Maybe I could live in my car. I own that at least.
Wake up. You are the appointed government. I am one of your constituents that voted you in. You’re in charge of the Government departments that oversee. One of these departments stuffed up and let YOUR constituents 101 aged pensioners down. Take ownership of their failure. Return the 36MILLION to us so we can support ourselves and live out our lives in peace.
I sent you an email when this started. A generic answer that said 0. Guess who took a look? your opposition Labour. I haven’t seen one thing from the elected Government on this fiasco called Sterling New Life. At least we have Denise Brailey engaged to help us. Without her we would have no help at all. You like James Shipton Chairman ASIC, Josh Frydenberg Treasurer are receiving letter after letter. People are hurting it wasn’t necessary if your government department had acted not sit back and let it happen.
Now what action will you take Prime Minister. The Australian public are behind us and growing in force. We WILL NOT sit back and take this we will keep fighting it will be all over the news nationwide. Even NZ are aware. So do what you are employed to do. Pull ASIC into line make them accountable for their actions and return our life savings. DO Not ignore us and put in too hard basket. We are hurting.
