THE IMPORTANCE OF A ROYAL COMMISSION INTO BANKS AND REGULATORS
WHY THE PC IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
Bob Katter was steadfastly for a Royal Commission and heading into the last election!!! He sang its praises and hopped on the BFCSA Consumer bandwagon. Very disappointingly, the moment he came into power as an elected MP, he changed his tune to a stupid PC which we all agree is a hopeless washed out version. The Greens, Hanson, Katter and Nats DITTO. Like all parrots, they promised the same PRIOR to last election and then when election was over, the Nutters Alliance all jumped ship and started suggesting the watered down version of a Parliamentary Commission.
NATs, PHON and Katter all reneged after they entered Parliament. They then started singing on song suggesting a watered down PC and some consumers fell for this ruse, but not any more! So much for the Nutters' political pre election promises. The deplorables will become obsolete and exposed. BFCSA Members stayed resolute and continued to demand a full blown Royal Commission into Banks.
Abbott and Hockey promised the stupid "roots and branch" FSI headed by ex banker and cartel founder David Murray and we all know that went nowhere for consumers. Bankers were happier than ever selling more mounds of TOXIC MORTGAGE PRODUCTS, and continued with their BBSW scandals and Money Laundering programs.
The Australian Labor Party (ALP) promised an RC and agreed in meetings with me that was what the party agreed upon as being critically important for consumers. Hallelujah! Announcement made 4th April 2016. Shorten was the only one (and his party and colleagues) that stuck to their promise post the 2016 election. . They continue to guarantee a Royal Commission into the Banks and Regulators.
I can only state FACTS of who did what and when. Bob Katter still says RC and then clarifies it with calls for a Parliamentary Commission which is a watered down version run by Parliamentarians and not QC's. How disingenuous are this mob - alliance? They have ignored all common sense ideas from Consumers. In fact the Nutters Alliance is leading consumers to believe in the PC!!! The Banks are laughing all the way to the top of their Towers of Opulence. Banks fear the RC. Of course they do!
The ROYAL COMMISSION will ensure high level examination of witnesses and evidence by top range QCs and two former judges as Royal Commissioners (due to magnitude of examination) and preferable ex High Court. This is the standard and level of examination CONSUMERS require to open up the banking system to scrutiny so the public can regain confidence into the banking system.
The RCrs can then recommend persons of interest be referred to the CDPP for prosecution. They can then recommend compensation or ongoing civil court procedures. The RC will also provide the chance for every aggrieved consumer to take part via, at the very least, a public submission and in some cases as witnesses to give evidence. Regulators and Bankers can then be cross examined by QC's.
Why will the ROYAL COMMISSION be the most successful ever? Due to the fact that the evidence of criminal behaviour that has been hidden from view for so long, will now be exposed, people will demand the Banking System be cleaned up to protect future generations from suffering the same financial ruin. The RC will be a high class historical benchmark for decades to come and will demonstrate the power of consumerism when sensibly and justifiably applied.
We all have a lot to learn and TRUTH is everything. Only a Royal Commission has the money and power and expertise to dig deep under the layers of deceit to get to that truth.
