To understand Narev's Intention to Deceive (a criminal offence), just rerun the very funny episodes of YES Minister. The problem these SCANDALS are NO LAUGHING matter!!! Australian regulators have lost the plot. So many people have been hurt because the SELLERS of these products were told by bank executives "what to SELL." The developers were clients of the bank and the entire operation is like a hungry octopus. Investors were made to blame the advisers, but you all need to dig deeper and SEE what was really being masterminded by those at the TOP of the banking sector. There are two BIG SCANDALS here:
Banks selling crook products to RETIREES to rob them of their nest eggs.
The second and bigger scandal: MORTGAGE FRAUD selling some NINJA Loans to young people, but dominated by unaffordable loans to ARIP's. PENSIONERS.
The ARIPs are "asset rich and income poor". In essence they are Mums and dads aged mid 50's - 100, any one "with a house and a pulse" who own their own home and have NO DEBT.
These victims are persuaded to buy a second home for investment and were callously used and abused by Bankers to pump up the property market and CREATE MASSIVE BUBBLES.
Bankers were after THE ASSET: THE FAMILY HOME. $800 billion worth of toxic mortgage lending and no problem????
Our Bankers created the same problems for Chinese ARIPs living in Shanghai, spruiked by the Major Banks' creating wealth arm and those Chinese ordinary Mums and Dads. Now the majors are spruiking in INDIA and attacking ARIPs once again!
