Give any of them an inch and they take a mile........Minister Ley has shown she has too
many errors of judgement and cannot continue to be a Minister.
Sussan Ley is OUT OF TOUCH with how constituents live and no concept of doing the right thing by others. She and her colleagues continually criticise the electorate for being used to the "age of entitlement" to run down those who are struggling in this wacky unfair economy, being run badly by the "head in the cloud" elitists.
What is wrong she says? 20 trips to the Gold Coast in two years, writing down trumped up EXCUSES for why she 'urgently' need to be there, including two New Years Eve bashes in a row. Talk about the "high life." Then she happens to have two houses where most are struggling to afford to buy one home, and then on impulse (her words) decides to buy a cute little apartment (fab Gold Coast beach views) for a mere $800,000. Its from her own Petty Cash. But she billed us for the trip and sees nothing to rile constituents about her conduct!!!!!
As a Minister her judgment skills rate a low 10% on the "thinking of others" scale. What planet is this woman on?
Then PM Malcolm T suggests she tell the long suffering public "its an error of judgement!" SO TODAY SHE IS FORCED TO STEP DOWN, just like Bronnie and the Copters. Now we have Suzie and the Private Jets. These stories are for pre schoolers. Its rather scary that these high profile Liberal Politicians do not get what the issue is.
Their thinking is if they get found out, they can easily (without strain on budget) give the money back! The problem is SUSSAN LEY has a GOLD MAN SACHS MORAL COMPASS...........meaning: "I am entitled to spend $12,000 on one trip on a private jet, and I like the Gold Coast more than Perth, Darwin, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide or Sydney!!!! I am the Minister for Health and there are so many more sick people on the Gold Coast." I'll say!!!!
Just like Bronwyn Bishop taking private helicopter rides, Sussan Ley must leave politics now! Give any of them an inch and they take a mile........ They can use SKYPE or HOOK UP CONFERENCE PHONE CALLS and stay at the office!!! I have had to do the same for many of my top level meetings re Consumer Protection and BFCSA issues over the years. The amount Ley has spent on travel to her favourite destination and the collecting of frequent flyer points as a bonus, would keep BFCSA going for a decade.
If Sussan Ley wishes to continue as a back bencher thats up to Malcolm, but the fact she has been caught with her hand in the taxpayer's cookie jar to fund her excessive lifestyle and travel to her fav destination, means SHE CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Her hubbie saw nothing wrong in doing this either with free seats.
If Politicians have no idea what theft is, or unconscionable conduct means, then they need to leave the House NOW. They have no concept of "doing the right thing by others."

Ley facing further pressure to resign

Pressure is mounting on Health Minister Sussan Ley following revelations of more taxpayer-funded trips to Queensland
Ms Ley reportedly claimed travel costs to the Gold Coast for New Year's Eve celebrations two years in a row.
On Sunday she apologised and vowed to pay back expenses for a 2015 trip to Queensland, during which she bought a $795,000 apartment on the Gold Coast.
She admitted it was an 'error of judgment' and did not meet the standards set for ministers by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
She has asked the Department of Finance to review all of her ministerial travel to the Gold Coast.
Opposition health spokeswoman Catherine King has called on Ms Ley to publicly explain her New Year's Eve jaunts
It would seem unusual to have official business on New Year's Eve,' she told ABC Radio on Monday.
Cabinet minister Simon Birmingham said extensive travel was part of Ms Ley's responsibilities and does not think she has breached the ministerial code of conduct.
'I don't believe that is the case,' he told ABC Radio
'I think we are expected to be held to a high standard and accountability and transparency, and in this regard Sussan thinks it's appropriate to make some repayments and I appreciate and understand why.''Ms Ley is set to speak to media later on Monday morning.
