Horrific scenes at HEIRISSON ISLAND Perth. Frequented by large Community of Australian Homeless. These people included many children, and youngest 6 months old. They are asking for LAND to set up camp for Homeless. WA Government ordered the tenth removal of all persons and confiscation of all possessions. Banner torn down saying "Homeless Community." All persons have lost their tents and possessions and one small child complained they had taken her "Teddy." Perth has new escalating groups of underemployed and unemployed. A couple say they are from Victoria as there is nowhere to live there. RENTS too high...................Perth climate is warmer.
Police moved in - just doing their job. No winners here. But Banker CEO's live in high rises above the comparative squalor of the camps only 1 km from the city of Perth. A backpacker couple had dropped in and stayed for four months....why not? No rent and right opposite the city and on an idyllic island in the middle of the beautiful Swan River. Yet, the indigenous have also been removed from this spot after being turfed out of LANDS in Lord St. No bonus paycheques of $10 million per year for these citizens.
Whether you agree or disagree with what is happening, one thing is clear: the INEQUALITY of citizens breeds resentment. Have we learned nothing the past 250 years?
Condemn the masses to homelessness, NO LAND and no way out, leads to civil war. Time for rethinking of whether we admire Bankers and the Cheating Elites bathed in tax evasion plans, or whether we understand peace comes as a result of respecting each other.
The State Government should allocate a large tract of LAND for the HOMELESS and transport all the tents and belongings to the new beginning. You cannot leave people without LAND. Fairly simple really. What will these people do this evening? They have re-congregated on Riverside Drive and will flood into the city building doorways to shield the children for the cold nights of Autumn. That's what Homelessness means. Do they have crime problems in these pop up communities? No, there actually is more respect between each other.
