A new website has been set up by one of our members. It tells the story of one man's battle against Westpac. If the Government thinks the older generation will not fight back, then they can think again. You may want to read his story and what he has to say.

An important message from Patrick Hayes
My name is Patrick Hayes.
I was bankrupted by Westpac at the age of 70. I was forced to attend the Supreme Court in Brisbane more than 70 times over seven years of legal sustained assault by the bank. This often involved four hours of travel to and from the court. I suffer from osteoarthritis and it could take me 30 minutes to walk from Roma Street station to the court complex- a distance of 300 metres.
I collapsed with embarrassing medical problems on three occasions in the court house precinct as I suffer from acute blood pressure and have heart attacks.
I thought I had justice on my side because almost ten years ago it was Westpac that introduced me to a convicted criminal fraudster, kidnapper and extortionist, and made partnering with him a condition of lending to me. Instead of justice, I was relentlessly and ruthlessly pursued as an innocent party to criminal frauds that Westpac as a bank financed and perpetuated.
I hold Westpac responsible for my current circumstances and I hope the information in this website will expose the ruthless conduct of the bank to the public and the authorities and politicians.
I hope it will also open the eyes of others to some serious injustices and failings in our financial and legal system in Australia.
Yours faithfully
