Look at all the press releases of late by Banks and their internal industry regulatory bodies stating they know they had shortcomings and there were things they could do better. Now they can see the writing on the wall, there will be a Royal Commission and the people pushing for it being victims of bad and toxic banking product along with our awesome band of victim advocates (the only support available to victims).
No true independent government run consumer protection, no intervention from our head regulatory service ASIC only a heavily lopsided EDR well weighted into the banks corner. Well the screws are about to go on and then as in many other countries around the globe the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth will come bubbling to the surface.
The whole sordid little affair will show links all the way to the top and that is not just inside the Banks, I mean all the way to the top. So when there is exposure of donations, bribes and gifting to offices at every level don't say we didn't tell you so, the very reason the Royal Commission is so unwanted but even more so the WIDE TERMS OF REFERENCE are the scariest thing for the people in high office to hear.
Banks could make a good start at showing good faith and contact all the people they made victims and return them to the position they should be in if they had not met their Bank. It won't get them off the hook but it might look better and reduce their CEOs sentence.
